Idle Speculation About the Pakistan Earthquake

Current reports suggest that the death toll from the recent 7.6 earthquake in Pakistan stands at over 18,000.

What if it got Osama bin Laden?

It’s unlikely, but consider that the shaking was reported to be very strong in Kabul. Chitral, Pakistan, one of the areas in which bin Laden is likely hiding, is closer:

earthquake and bin laden

[Google Earth is sweet] to the epicenter than Kabul, and since tremor strength tends to follow the inverse square law, it likely hit that area pretty hard. Suffice it to say, there are better places to be hanging out than a mountainside hideaway when a large earthquake hits.

Note: I wish this were obvious enough that I didn’t have to make it clear, but no, even if the earthquake did kill bin Laden, that would not in any way diminish the horrible tragedy it has caused.
